A Practice For Energy Clearing

Whether you like to admit it or not, you’re influenced by other people’s energy and emotional states. Sometimes, that influence is uplifting. Often, it’s not.

Unless you choose to live in total social isolation, cut off from the world, you’re continually exposed to the energy and emotional states of other people. It happens in close personal encounters with people you love and with those you work with. It happens in group interactions, large or small. For example; political rallies, crowds at sporting events, sales meetings and family gatherings.

The more empathetic you are, the more open you are to being influenced, simply because of your tendency to comfort people in emotional turmoil – and their tendency to pour their hearts out to you.

You can also be influenced by the energy of a place, as I was when I visited WW1 battlefields in France and Belgium. Places like the Menin Gate Memorial in Ypres, Belgium, which bears the names of over 54,000 soldiers who lost their lives in the battles of the Ypres Salient and who have no known grave. Just being there, I was overwhelmed by feelings of immense sadness and had to spend time allowing that energy to wash through me and dissipate.

It’s not only places broadcasting energy levels. The media and social media, in particular, have become sources of influence pushing out stories loaded with fear and cute images of cats.

If you’re not careful, it’s easy to be drawn into the negative energy or emotional turmoil of another – or to be swept up in their positive energy and exuberance, which can be just as unsettling or manipulative.

You can turn off your devices, but you’re living in a sea of energy and being influenced by unseen forces. You might not be watching the news or doom scrolling on social media but nearly everybody else is – and they’re carrying those energies with them when they interact with you.

A practice from Lee Harris Energy you can use to release energies and emotions is the conscious repetition of the following ‘medicine mantra’ after you’ve been exposed to someone else’s energy and emotions.

“I release any energies and emotions that are not mine.”

Give it a go. It works for me, and it might just deliver the energy clearing you’re looking for.
